WELTON, Ella Fay (Floyd) - Of Brighton, formerly of Fenton, age 88, died Monday, January 23, 2012 surrounded by family at Emeritus of Brighton.Funeral service will be held at11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettellofficiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, next to her beloved husband of 61 years, the former Lee Welton, who preceded her in death in 2004. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. Friday and9 a.m. Saturday until thetime of the service at thefuneral home.

Mrs. Welton was born in Salem, Arkansas on November 17, 1923.
She was a long time resident of Flint and Fenton before moving to Brighton in November of 2011. Ellie, as she liked to be called, loved life and family and always looked forward to family get togethers. She graduated from Flint Central High School and Flint Cosmetology School. She worked several years as a beautician in and around Flint. Ellie is survived by her children, Dan (Mary Jane) Welton of Brighton, Dave (Debra) Welton of Fenton, Nancy Welton and partner Maureen Whitman of Westland, MI and Sherry Moffitt and partner,Kevin Hawkins of Fenton, MI; grandchildren, Mike (Rita) Welton of South Lyon, John Welton of San Francisco,Ashley Kingsbury of Fenton, Christina Bommarito of Westland, MI, Matthew Moffitt of Fenton, Anthony Moffitt of Plymouth, Kyle Hawkins of Fenton and Stephanie Hawkins of Fenton; great-grandchildren, Riley and Daniel Welton of South Lyon, Rosalee Kingsburyor Fenton, Geena andAustin Bommarito of Westland; several loving nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and loving friends at Calvary Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Anna Floyd; three sisters, Vera (Floyd) McInnes, Ollie (Floyd) Carriveau and Louise (Floyd) Bingham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Community Church, of which she was a lifetime member and was a founding member 50 years ago. Ellie (Mom) will be greatly missed.
