Obituary:
Eva Mae Conner, daughter of Joshua and Matilda Mohr Sewell was born Nov. 17-1896 at the family home and passed away at May 29, 1987, at the Burwell Community Memorial Nursing home, at the age of 90 years 6 months, and 12 days.
Eva grew up on a farm in the Rose Hill community north of Burwell. She loved music and took part in the neighborhood activities and Sunday school there. At this school she also recieved her education.
on Apr. 10, 1921 she was united in marriage to Charles E. Conner at the Burwell Methodist Parsonage. To this union four children were born. one daughter Violet Irene, died in 1924 at the age of 27 months. Charlie and Eva made their homes on farms in the Rose Hill area and the free Silver community until 1945 when they moved to a farm in in Loup county, then to Burwell in 1949.
Eva accepted Christ as a young lady in 1917 and after moving to Burwell became a active member of the United Methodist Womes, the church prayer group and adult bible class, holding vatious offices and was always willing to give her time, to do what was needed. For many years she enjoyed the quilting and fellowship and attended the church as long as she was able to do so. She also enjoyed her "fancy work", and her flowers, her home and she was a loving wife, mother andgrandmother and will be greatly missed.
In Feb. 1986 Eva's health declined so she could no longer stay in her home. After being hospitalized, she was cared for in the nursing home where she resided until the time of her death.
Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, her parents, one brother, Julius, great grandson, Anthony Hiatt, and a son-in-law, Roland Peterson.
Left to hold her sacred memory are he husband, Charles, son Delvin and wofe Evalyn of Vale, Oregon, daughter's Aletha Peterson of Burwell and Betty and her husband Russell Fredrick of Taylor, a sister Clara Rood of Des Moines, Iowa, a brother J. Ernest Sewell of Burwell. 7 grandaughters, and 11 great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, at the United Methodist Church in Burwell with Rev. Nancy Flader officiating.
Music was provided by Jean Bolli and Virginia Dobbins.
Pallbearers included Bo Conner, Randall Johnson, Charles Nelson, Bill Shottenkirk, Kenneth Heine and Ron Adams.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church Building fund. Fleming Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
