Delvin was the son of Charles Emmitt Conner and Eva Mae Sewell

He married Evalyn May Neel and had the following children: Carolyn Jeanne and Donna May

VALE-Delvin M. Conner, 66, Vale, died March 4, 1991, at home after a long illness. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Vale United Methodist Church. Pastor Daryl Blanksma will officiate. Interment will follow at Nyssa Cemetery, Nyssa, under the direction of Vale's Lienkaemper Chapel.
He was born June 12, 1924, at Burwell, Neb., to Charles and Eva Swell Conner. He grew up in Burwell. He served in the U. S. Army during World War 11. He and Evelyn Neel were married Aug. 10, 1947, in Arcadia, Neb. They moved to Nyssa in 1958 and to Vale in 1967. Delvin had owned garages in Burwell and Ord, Neb. and a filling station in Scotia, Neb. He retired from Ore-Ida at the age of 55 and worked as parts man at Nyssa Auto Parts. He and Evelyn owned and operated D & E Laundry in Vale from 1967 to 1979. He had been a mechanic since age 16. He loved his work, his family, and helping at the church. He had a good sense ofhumor and was concerned for others. He was an active member of the Vale United Methodist Church, Vale American Legion Post 96, and the Treasure Valley Crankers.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Vale; two daughters, Carolyn Conner of Fruitland, and Donna Egbert of Lynnwood, Wash.; two sisters, Betty Frederick of Taylor, Neb., and Aletha Peterson of Burwell, and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Irene and a grandson, Anthony.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Vale's Lienkaemper Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Vale United Methodist Church or XL Hospice in Fruitland.
