He was the secretary to the Winchester Democratic Committee. A World War 11 veteran serving in the Coast Guard, he was a member of the North Salem American legion Post No. 1776, and a communicant of St. Josephs Church, Croton Falls. A resident of Sumers before moving to North Salem 16 years ago.
He is survived by his wife Jeannette C. Bals McNamara. Six children: Eileen Shlessinger of Ossining, Maureen Luse of North Salem, Ann Marie Muller of Pleasant Valley, NY., Peter Fagan of Montauk, Joseph Fagan of Newport News, Va., and Kevin Fagan of north Salem; Three brothers: Raymond McNamara of fort lauderdale, fl., Walter McNamara of of New York City, Thomas McNamara of Peekskill; two sisters: Mary Jennings of New York City, Ruth Moberg of California and 10 grandchildren.
