McNamara, JeanetteJeanette C. McNamara of Brewster, New York, died Saturday August 6, 2011 in North Salem, NY, at the age of 89.She was born Apr. 22, 1922 in Chattam, NY, daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Richardson) Bals. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Katonah NY. She married Peter Fagan whom predeceased her in 1962, then married Joseph McNamara in 1966 at St. Joseph's Church in Croton Falls. Joseph also predeceased her in 1983. Mrs. McNamara was the first female Town clerk and first female Supervisor for the Town of North Salem serving as Town Clerk from 1963 to 1979 and Supervisor from 1979 to 1985.Mrs. McNamara was a member of St. Joseph's Church, the North Salem Democratic Club and Democratic Delegate to N.Y. Mrs. McNamara is survived by her two sons Kevin (Joan) Fagan of Brewster, NY and Joseph (Mariann) Fagan of Gloucester, VA, two daughters Eileen and Maureen McNamara both of Marietta, GA, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Ann Marie Mueller and a son Peter Fagan. Love of and for her family was very important.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Croton Falls on Wed. Aug. 10, 2011 at 10 am. Internment will be private. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY on Tues. from 4-8 pm.
