He had worked for Vanguard Paints as a laboratory technician, then as a screen assembler at Airolite Company until he retired in 1975. Harold served in the U.S. Army during Korea from April 30, 1953, to April 20, 1955. Harold enjoyed being Mr. Santa Claus and his wife was Mrs. Claus and together they were at all the Veterans Organizations Christmas parties and also would visit children in their homes if requested. He enjoyed fishing, camping, Blue Grass music and doing all things outdoors. He was a member of American Legion Post #64, a life member of D.A.V. and Past Commander of Pioneer Chapter Disabled American Veterans #52 and had been a 4-H advisor and a member of Marietta Church of God.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Maxon (Dean) and Patricia Burfield, both of Marietta and a son Danny Adams (Ruth Kerns) of Belpre, four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, one brother Virgil Adams (Elsa) of Eugene, OR, a sister Hilda Ward of Georgia, and a special sister-in-law Jeanette Flowers of Flora, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 57 years Ruth Marie Flowers Adams May 22, 2011, and 3 brothers Wilbert "Buddy", Delbert, and Lloyd Adams.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike Street with Pastor John Coyle officiating, burial to follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel.
