Services for Jessie Price Burnett Bishop, 93, of Channelview, and formerly of Grapeland, will be at 1pm Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Grapeland. Burial will follow in Elkhart Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Mrs. Bishop died Saturday at her residence. She was born June 4, 1910, in Houston County, to Albert Price and Polly Walling Price.
Mrs. Bishop was a member of First Baptist Church of Grapeland and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Bishop, in 1976; sisters, Addie Lovett and Viola Hendon; and brothers, Leathard Price, Woodard Price, Willie Price and Charley Price; and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by daughters, Shirley Kirkland and husband J.W. of Channelview, Rita Madeley and husband Walter of Corpus Christi and Jean Ballard of Channelview; stepdaughter, Linda Harrison and husband Ralph of Houston; sons, W.A. Burnett and wife Shirley Ann of Waldron, Ark.; and Buck Burnett of Palestine; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Robert Streetman, Jeffery Madeley, Ray Price, Gary Burnett, Charley Burnett and Robert Wood. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Wagnone, Bubba Savoic, Rodney Piecznski, Tim Howell and Ralph Harrison.
Condolence calls will be received from 6-8pm today at the funeral home in Grapeland.
