OSCEOLA - Mrs. Charles Aloan, 72, a life - long resident of the Osceola - Florence area, died today in Camden after a long illness.
The former Annie Kirkland, she was born Nov. 26, 1900 in Florence, daughter of James and Sara Cavanaugh Kirkland. She was married to Mr. Aloan Oct. 6, 1945. He died in March, 1969.
Mrs. Aloan worked for a short time at the Metropolitan Insurance Co., New York City She was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are a son, Richard, Osceola; a stepson, Robert, Syracuse; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Edith Bristol, Atlanta, Ga., and a brother, Robert Kirkland, Ilion.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sanborn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul D. Mills, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Camden, officiating. Burial will be in Osceola Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.∼Age 72
