BALDWYN - Irene L. Copeland, 86, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born May 17, 1925, in Lee County to Jessie Lucas and Minnie Lucas. She was married to the late Clarence Copeland. She retired from NMMC after 25 years. She was a member of Springhill M.B. Church and the Mother Board.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Springhill M.B. Church with Rev S.W. Shinault officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Agnew & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Mary Landum Copeland; one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Barnes and Mary (Henry) Edwards, both of Lansing, Mich., and Shelia Copeland of Baldwyn; three sons, Jerry Copeland and Larry Copeland, both of Baldwyn, and Bobby (Shirley) Copeland of Lansing, Mich.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Annie B. Randolph of Baldwyn and Sarah Windham of Erie, Pa.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today with the family hour from 5 to 6 p.m. today.
