Carrie L. White, 81, of Phenix City, Alabama, formerly of Battle Creek, died Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Doctors Hospital, Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. White, the daughter of Mora and Annie Jones, was born August 2, 1930, in Camden, Alabama. She moved with her parents to Selma, Alabama, where she graduated from high school. Carrie met the love of her life, George H. White, and in 1948, they were married in Selma, Alabama. They came to Battle Creek, in the early 1950's. She was employed by the Kellogg Company in the Packaging Department for thirty years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Second Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Senior Usher Board. She was a member of the Kellogg 25year Club, she enjoyed bowling, shopping, collecting clowns and talking with people. In 2006, Mrs. White returned to Alabama, and made her home in Phenix City. She united with the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Columbus, Georgia. Surviving are sons, one of Battle Creek, one of Corinth, Texas; brothers, one of Battle Creek, one of Knoxville, Tennessee; sisters, one of Phenix City, one of Montgomery, Alabama; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. White, September 13, 1995, brother, Morris Jones and sister, Christine Baines Visitation, T M Hughes-Perry Chapel, Friday, after 3:00 p.m. Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Carrie L. White, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, Second Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend William Wyne, Officiating. Interment, Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements, Taylor Funeral Home, Phenix City, T M Hughes-Perry Mortuary, LLC, Battle Creek.
