ALVA BURTON COX
Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ross Memeorial Home for Alva Burotn Cox, 70, of West Monument Street, Pleasane Hill.
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery with the Rev. Carl B. Cawood, pastor of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 8:30 p.m. today.
Mr. Cox died 5:30 p.m. Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his home. He was in ill health five years.
He was born Sept. 13, 1892 in Champaign County, the son of Romanes and Margaret Blue Cox. He was married Feb. 12, 1921 in Troy to Edith Cruea, who survives.
A former Troy resident and 23-year employee of the Troy Sunshade, he resided in Pleasant Hill ten years. Mr. Cox was semi-retired; he served as the sexton for Pleasant Hill cemetery six years.
Mr. Cox was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren.
