Mr. Allen was born October 17, 1939 in Gonzales, Texas to the late Mamie (May) and James Dalva Allen, and died peacefully Friday evening with his family by his side at his residence. Mr. Allen resided in Angelina County most of his life. He retired from Champion Paper Mill and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sandra (Coty) Allen of Lufkin; daughters, Kimberlee Maness and husband Jay Toler of Nacogdoches and Donna A. Heath of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Lisa Allen of Forest, Dalva Allen of Lufkin and John W. and Carrie Allen of Nashville, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Dalva Ray Allen of Pittsburg and Kenneth Allen of Bryan; sisters, Charlotte Pierce of Houston and Nelda Jauer of Runge; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Allen.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Maness, John Logan Maness, Blake Heath, Briley Heath, Tren Allen and Coty Allen. Honorary pallbearer will be Houston Allen.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater East Texas Chapter, P.O. Box 630636, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963.
