FULTON - Ruby Wright Bowen, 92, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at the Daniel Health Care Complex in Fulton. She was born April 5, 1909, to the late Thomas Jefferson Wright and Georgia Ann Knight Wright. She was a longtime member of the Tremont United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Itawamba County and a homemaker. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton with Bro. Ray Stevens officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include one son, Gordon Dale Bowen and his wife, Shirley, of Fulton; four daughters, Georgia Bowen Manning Owen and her husband, Charles, and Patsy Bowen Bennett, all of Tupelo, Janice Bowen Moore Phillips of Fulton and Nina Bowen Rial of El Paso, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Wheeler Bowen; three sisters, Gladys Wright Murphree of Fulton, Era Elizabeth Wright Maxey of Amory and Annie Wright Dye of Vardaman; 11 grandchildren, Desha Bennett Cruse of Tupelo, Bob Bennett of Tyler, Texas, Joseph Bennett of Jackson, Bridgit Manning Nichols of Tupelo, Jana Manning Kidd of Tupelo, Andrea Manning Pongetti of Tupelo, Andy Manning of Tupelo, Heath Moore of Fulton, Jed Moore of Fulton and Shea Rial of Little Rock, Ark., and Charlotte Bowen Jefferies of Oxford; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Ann Nichols.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gordon Bowen; a son, Major Lynn Bowen; an infant grandchild; four brothers; four sisters; and her parents.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Bob Bennett, Jody Bennett, Heath Moore, Jed Moore, Andy Manning and Shea Rial.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons-in-law: Chad Nichols, Jeff Kidd, Joey Pongetti, Allen Pearce and Roger Nichols.
