John A. Miller, 90, former well known resident of Waunakee, died it a Madison hospital Sunday morning following a prolonged illness. He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Juris, at Madison. Mr. Miller was born in the town of Springfield on February 3, 1868, and he spent his entire life in the Dane and Waunakee area. He was engaged in farming for many years and in 1928 he retired and moved to this village where he conducted a poultry and egg business for about 12 years. His wife preceded him in death in 1945. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Peter Juris, Westport; Mrs. John Heniz of Waunkee; Mrs Charles Juris of Madison; Mrs. Edward Kemmer Madison; Leo Faust of Waunkee;Mrs. Fay Hammersly, Jr., Madison; three sons, William P. Miller, Madison;Herman J. and Carl J. Miller, Waunakee; five sisters, Mrs. Barbara Goddertz, Madison Mrs. Michael Hauser, Mrs. Frank C. Raemisch of Waunkee. William Chambers, Waunakee; Mrs. Matt H. Kopp, Madison. Two brothers William Miller of Madison and Nick Miller, Waunakee; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 9 a. m. at the Schwab funeral home of Waunakee WI, and at 9:30 in St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Ziegler officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were six grandsons, John Juris, William Heins, Eugene Faust, William Miller, Lloyd Miller and Richard Hammersly. The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at 8 p. m. at the funeral home.
