Longnecker married Lilly Belle Wehunt on 4 January 1942 at Hot Springs, AR. She preceded him in death.

Survivors: two sons - C.E. "Gene" Longnecker and O.D. "Danny" Longnecker; daughter - Yohana Brown; two brothers - Royal Wayne Longnecker and Aaron Guy Longnecker; four sisters - Louise Northcutt, Ala Mae LaMarche, Alta Horton, Juanita Heitkamp; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Olivia Belle Longnecker preceded him in death in December 1946.
