Age 67 years, 11 months and six days, a resident of Sherwood, Arkansas formerly of East Prairie, passed away Thursday January 19, 2012 at 8 p.m. in the St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born February 13, 1944 in East Prairie to Vashti Miller Arington of East Prairie and the late John Wyley Arington, Jackie lived in Arkansas for the past several years where he was a retired Truck Driver and was of the Baptist Faith. On July 6, 1963 at Bertrand he married Pat Wilkerson who survives of the home. Survivors besides his wife and mother include one son and fiancé, Jackie Eugene Arington, II & Sara Cray of Sikeston; one daughter, Robin Suzette Herman of Sherwood; one brother and sister-in-law, Bud & Harriett Arington of Pekin, Illinois; one sister, Laura L. Parker of St. Louis; by three grandchildren; by three great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and many friends. His father and one brother, Charlie Arington preceded Jackie in death. Graveside services will be conducted Monday January 23 at 11 a.m. in the Dogwood Cemetery. The family will officiate by having eulogies of Jackie. Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
