I guess I have always been interested in genealogy since my early childhood. My parents would take us children visiting family members and we would all talk about ancestors who did this or that. We kept notes and addresses and wrote letters often. Over the years, it seemed like our families began to drift apart as key figures passed on. I took it upon myself to start putting the information together and became more interested in genealogy during the 1990s. I have since traced my maternal line to the mid-1700s and paternal line to the mid-1800s and often help others with their research.
