Gladys (Fichtner) Johanson, 83, of Littleton died on January 10, 2012 at Genesis Westford House in Westford. She was born in Boston on May 21, 1928, the daughter of the late Louis and Sarah (Jordan) Fichtner. She grew up in Roxbury and was a 1945 graduate of Roxbury High School. During her youth, Gladys summered in Littleton at the Long Lake area where she met and married her husband Carl R. Johanson in 1948. They have made their home in Littleton since 1948 and wintered in Florida following their retirement in 1989. Gladys worked in Filenes' in Boston, the Littleton School System and Digital Equipment Corp.. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Littleton, the Littleton Women's Club and Seniors Club. Gladys had a passionate love of singing, music, dance and theater. She was an avid camper and enjoyed participating in many activities with her senior friends in Littleton. Her survivors include her husband Carl R. Johanson, Sr. of Littleton, 3 sons, Carl R. Johanson, Jr. of Greenville, NH, Paul F. Johanson of Alabama, Mark A. Johanson of Westford, 2 daughters, Winnifred M. (Johanson) Pickard of Lunenburg and Lillian R. (Johanson) Ronzio of Westminster. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King Street, Littleton, MA on Monday, January 16 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Littleton Common, Littleton, MA on Tuesday, January 17 at 10:00 am. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery in Littleton.
