FROSTBURG — Ruth G. Hohing, 93, of Frostburg passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2011 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 30, 1917 in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Wolf) Gerson. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hohing; sister, Sara Gerson; and two brothers, Hyman Gerson and Benjamin Gerson.
Ruth and her husband Robert were owners of the Hohing Men's and Boy's Clothing Store.
She was a member of the B'er Chayim Congregation, a charter member of the Frostburg Soroptimist Club, a graduate of Beall High School, class of 1934, and the Western Maryland Health System Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son, Lawrance Hohing and wife Dottie, Cumberland; three grandchildren, Stefanie Boggs and husband Steven, Frostburg, Erin Bishop and husband Jason, Cumberland and Ryan Hohing, Cumberland; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Hensel, Leah Boggs, and Tatum Bishop; and step-great-grandchild, Jaden Bishop.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rabi Stephen Sniderman officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Frostburg Soroptimist Club and the LaVale Lions Club Sight Program.
Interment will be at East View Cemetery.
