Lou Fern grew up in the Phalba area and graduated from Phalba High School. She was a long time member of the China Grove Baptist Church. Lou Fern was married over 50 years to her one true love, Loyd Weatherford, until his passing in 1998. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after many years as an operator and Assistant Manager. Lou Fern's biggest joy was being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed life. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends. Lou Fern will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ollie Tucker; beloved husband, Loyd Weatherford.

Lou Fern is survived by son, L. E. "Stump" Weatherford, and wife, Dale; son, Bill Weatherford; grandchildren: Amy Weatherford, Ashley Babb and husband, Steve, Aaron Weatherford and wife, Carrie, and Cory Weatherford and fiancee, Ashleigh Armstrong; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Ethan, Taylor, Kalyn, Dexter and Kolemon; great-great-grandchildren, Bo and Bailey; and a host of other family and friends.
