VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Barbara J. Bailey, age 82, a lifelong resident of the area, prior to moving to Virginia Beach, Va., in 2005, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Sentara Nursing Center, Virginia Beach, Va.
She was born March 4, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Carl J. and Florence (Parks) Carrier.
Barbara was employed with the former Brown Memorial Hospital as Director of Human Resources and a member of the former East Conneaut United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed bowling and crafts.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her son, David E. (Edna) Bailey of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Carl (Amee) Bailey of Jacksonville, Fla., Eric (Lisa) Bailey of Virginia Beach, Va., and Loryna (Randy) Arnold of Virginia Beach, Va.; great-grandchildren, Rowen Benjamin Bailey, Reagan Michelle Bailey, Esme Michelle Wood and Taylor and Marissa Arnold; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronsel E. Bailey; sisters, Betty Crosby and Martha Alexander; and a brother, David Carrier.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 20th, at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 19th, from 6 to 8 p.m.
