Henry C. Arch, well known Forest Park businessman, died Tuesday morning, December 10, in his sleep, after an illness of three weeks from which he was considered recovered.
Born in Cambria, Wis., October 3, 1869, he came to Forest Park in 1896 where he established his cut stone contracting business. The widely known firm, known as Henry C. Arch and Son, Inc., is located at 7665 Van Buren street, a site it has occupied since its inception. Mr. Arch was also engaged in other business interests until he became ill.
Mr. Arch was a resident of Forest Park until 1905 when he moved to River Forest. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star, and teh Pistakee Yacht Club.
He was the husband of the late Fredricka, the father of Elmer W. Arch and the late Chester R., and the grandfather of Mary Ann and John Arch, children of Elmer Arch, and of William, Sally and Jean Grant, children of the late Chester Arch.
Services were held today (December 12) at the First Presbyterian church of River Forest, with interment in Forest Home cemetery.
