Mrs. Van Roekel Of Boyden Passes On
Funeral services for Mrs. John Van Roekel, 85, of Boyden were held Saturday at the First Ref. Church, Boyden.
Mrs. Van Roekel died Wednesday at a Sheldon hospital. She was born Nov. 26, 1880 in The Netherlands and came to the United States as a young girl.
She was married to John Van Roekel Feb. 21, 1907 at Orange City. Mr. Van Roekel died in 1951.
Survivors include two sons, Albert of Sheldon and Abraham of Boyden; five daughters: Mrs. John Horn, Lake Wilson, Minn.; Mrs. Tuenis Vander Lee, Sheldon, Mrs. Howard Harman and Mrs. Philip Van Gorp, Boyden; Mrs. Dale Ferwerda, Springfield, S. D.; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
