Lillia Rosten was born at Superior, Wisconsin and came to cass Lake when a young girl and grew up here. She was united in marriage to Mel Cummings, a member of another pioneer family, and the young couple went to Ely, when the Superior National forest was established.
The family returned to Cass Lake, where Mr. Cummings was ranger at Cass Lake until his death.
Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her hsuband, two sons, Russell and Melville, Jr., and a daughter, Margaret.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Cyr (Dorothy) of Walker, and a grandson, Roger Cyr, and a granddaughter, Beverly Cummings, and by two great- grandchildren. (Cass Lke Times, Feb 6, 1969)
