Ethel Ragar Sharpe, 96, Palmyra, formerly of LaBelle, died Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra. Born January 29, 1907, Enid, Okla., the daughter of Frank and Janet Fasdale Ragar. She married William Francis Sharpe on February 26, 1928. Mrs. Sharpe and her husband lived and farmed in LaBelle. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the LaBelle Christian Church. Survivors include one son, William Glen Sharpe, Baring, Mo.; two daughters-in-law, Jeanne Sharpe, Quincy, Ill., and Betty Sharpe, Ewing, Mo.; four granchildren, Ethel O'Brien and husband, Maywood, Mo., Deborah Leerhoff and husband, Lewistown, Mo., Betty Miller, Philadelphia, Mo., Hill Sharpe and hiw wife, Fargo, N.D., eleven great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Francis Eugene Sharpe and Lewis Hunter Sharpe, three sisters, Sara Jane Morgan, Mary Alice Parshall, one in infancy, and one brother, Lewis Ragar. Visitation was Thursday, December 18, 2003, at the Coder Funeral Chapel, LaBelle, Mo. Funeral services were held Friday, December 19, 2003, at the Coder Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Harles Sharpe officiating the service. Burial was at the LaBelle Cemetery.
