Loyd Adams, age 82 of rural Anderson, Missouri, departed this life January 13, 2012 at Freeman Hospital, Neosho. Loyd was born April 12, 1929 in rural Christian county, the son of Mark V. and Rosie (Robinson) Adams.

On October 9, 1949 he married Gloria J. Jones. The family lived on a farm and raised ten children.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents; his identical twin, Floyd Adams; three sons, Jim Adams, Keith Adams and David Adams; a grandson, Joseph Adams; and five sisters, Hattie Adams, infant, Isabelle Johnston, Lula Henry, Gertrude Perryman, and Ann Davidson.

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Gloria J. Adams; two daughters, Sue Adams, Neosho and Nancy Burnett, Seneca; two brothers, Everett Adams, Springfield and Joe Adams, Springfield; two sisters, June Short, Springfield and Betty Hedgepeth, Marionville; seven grandchildren, Heather Adams, Gayla Wright, Tammy Nunnenkamp, Michelle Adams, Priscilla Adams, Rebekah Burnett and Bradley Burnett; four great grandchildren; Ty Nunnenkamp, Tucker Nunnenkamp, Garon Wright and Cameron Adams; and many nephews and nieces.

Loyd was a 25 year member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 1127 and lived on his farm 42 years near Anderson. His special young friends were Virgil Spears, Danny Lakey and David Lakey.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery, Ozark. Visitation will be from 10 am – noon on Tuesday in the funeral home.
