Irene was born on May 28, 1911, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Peter Born and Dell (Dixon) Born.
She was a homemaker and had worked at the Jacket Factory. Later she worked at the former Grandpa John�s and due to her knowledge with sewing and fabric, she would go on clothing buying trips to help select the clothes that would be sold in the store.
Mrs. Eastman was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, St. Andrew Altar Society and the former member and past president of the C.L.B. She was also a member of the Murphysboro Senior Citizens.
Irene married Charles Eastman on October 15, 1929, in St. Louis, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1972.
She is survived by one son and daughter in law Donald and Lois Eastman of McKinney, TX;
nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren;
two brothers Ralph Born of Edwardsville, IL and Edward Born of Mt. Morris, Mich.; two sisters Kathryn Schimpf of Jerseyville, IL and Alice Nelson of Montfort, Wis.
She was preceded in death by four daughters Betty Fritz, Norma Hudson, Ruth Ann Eastman, and Doris Louise Eastman, one granddaughter, two brothers Henry Born and Paul Born, and one sister Mary Jones.
