She was born June 23, 1924 in Pocatello, Idaho to Lorin Lyman Walker and Vera May Hendricks Walker. Norma was raised on the family farm in Inkom, Idaho, where she met and married her sweetheart, Ken. Together they served three missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: Los Angeles Family History Library and Parker, AZ Employment Services, two times.
Her church service spanned her lifetime, including well over 1,000 quilts for humanitarian services and her family.
She is survived by her children, Geri (Dennis) Perkins, serving an LDS Mission in the Marshall Islands, Karen (Roger) Woodruff of Bakersfield, California; Doris Nored of Sonora, California; Renee (Robert) Park of Hanna, Utah; Darlene (Joe) Lawrence and Kenneth Jr. (Kathy) Broadhead, both of Salt Lake City; Clinton Broadhead of Alamo, Nevada; Mark Broadhead of Eaton, Colorado; and Gary (Cathy) Broadhead of East Carbon, Utah; fifty grandchildren; 120 great-grandchildren; twenty-five great-great-grandchildren (with four coming in the spring); brother, Horace Walker; and sister, Verla Ellis. With spouses, Norma's legacy of posterity is 263. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; son, Stanton Wayne; four grandchildren, Jeffery, Megan, Corrine, and Carl; son-in-law, Danny Nored; and siblings, Lowel, Arvilla, Adderine, Leland, Phoebe, and Lois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012 in the Westbrook Stake Center, 4113 West 6200 South, West Jordan. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, January 15, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
