Lloyd C. Arnold, 79, of RD 1, Box 303, Ulster (Rome Township), passed away on Thursday evening, Sept. 7, 1995 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Nov. 1, 1915 in N. Orwell Twp., a son of the late Harry C. and Cora Brenchley Arnold. He attended the Vawter School in Litchfield Twp., and on April 6, 1945, he married the former Pearle Maslin at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. He retired in 1973, following a lifetime career in dairy farming. In addition to farming, he was a school bus driver in Litchfield and Athens, owned and operated a milk truck route in Ghent and Orange Hill and operated a bulldozer in the Orwell, Windham and Little Meadows area. Lloyd was a devoted member and Deacon of the Bumpville Bible Church for many years and was instrumental in the rebuilding and the revitalization of the church.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Pearle, he is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Nancy Arnold, Bumpville; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Robert Bennett, Litchfield, Donna and Stuart Brink of LeRaysville, Shirley and Keith Young of Litchfield, and Denise Gray of Tennessee; his 15 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy: Adrian and Deidre Gorsline, Tim and Cindy Brink, Tyler and Mary esther Brink, Eric Brink, Jai and Carrie Arnold, Amber and Trish Young, Jason forrest, Heather Gray, Klye, Aaron Audrey and Dennis DeWolf. Three Great-grandchildren; Katrina, Tiffany and Raechel Brink; brothers, Clyde Arnold of Arizona, Willis and Wallace Arnold of Litchfield and Robert Arnold of Rome; sisters, Hettie Rinker of Windham, Alice Belles of Florida, Doris Cole Maslin of Rome and Mae French of Litchfield; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Claude, Harry and Walter.
Funeral services will be held under a tent Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the South Litchfield Cemetery with his pastor, Ron Head, and cousin, Pastor Kenneth Crain, officiating. Internment will follow the service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m., at the Cemetery.
