Dora Edwards of Sallisaw, formerly of Cartersville, Oklahoma was born February 11, 1922 in Hitchita, Oklahoma to George and Susie Breckenridge and went to be with the Lord January 10, 2012 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 89. Dora married Earl Edwards on April 9, 1939 and they were married for 61 years. She is survived by one son, Ronnie Edwards and wife, Shirley of Stigler, OK; five daughters and four sons in law, Marie and Connie Cupp, Earlene and Robert Chapman, all of Cartersville, OK, Edith and Roger Hughes, Muldrow, OK, Linda and Jim Watson, Garland, OK, and Lisa Edwards of Paden, OK; three sisters, Madie Degraffenreid and husband Roger of McAlester, Hazel Wood and husband Ju of Grove, OK and Edith Larkin of Springfield, MO; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren. Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Edwards; one son-in-law, Jim Nixon; her parents, George and Susie Breckenridge; and several brothers. Funeral service will be 2 pm Friday, January 13, 2012 at Mallory Chapel-Stigler with Rev. Cameron Hudson and Rev. Richard Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Massey Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home & Crematory. Pallbearers will be Doug Nixon - Shaun Chapman - Breck Chapman - Dustin Edwards – Jayme Hughes - Larry Watson - Bryan Watson and Leighton Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons.
