COLUMBUS, GA — Janice Davis, 53, of Columbus, GA died Tuesday, January 6, 2008 in Panama City, FL. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Britt David Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Jones officiating. Members of the Sports Council Board of Directors, the Mayor and members of City Council, and members of the Lady's Society will serve as honorary pallbearers. Private interment will be held in Parkhill Cemetery.
Ms. Davis was born January 20, 1955 in Columbus, GA daughter of Omagene Davis Holland and the late Douglas W. Davis. She was preceded in death by her step father, Ernest Holland. She was a graduate in 1973 from Columbus High School and received a BS Degree in Community Development and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Columbus State University. She retired in 2008 as the Executive Director of the Sports Council of Columbus and was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors other than her mother are her sister, Debra Davis Burch and brother-in-law, Johnny of Fitzgerald, GA, niece, Emily Burch of Fitzgerald, GA, and nephew, Jonathan Burch of Atlanta, GA.
