Moulton
Carlton Cartee, 62, of Moulton, passed from this life Tuesday, January 10, 2012, after a short illness at his home with his loving family. Born on August 9, 1949, in Moulton, he was the son of Ottis and Audrey Cartee. He was employed by Monsanto for 18 years before he became owner/ operator of Cartee Slaughter House. Mr. Cartee enjoyed sports and especially loved watching his sons and grandchildren on the ball field. Mr. Cartee served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a member and deacon of Midway Church of Christ.
Those left behind to honor his memory, his wife of 43 years, Marion McWhorter Cartee; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Misty Cartee of Hartselle, Kevin and Alison Cartee of Trinity; grandchildren, Tyler, Lillyanna, Kalli, Drew and Daxton Cartee; mother, Audrey Cartee Terry; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Steve Barkley of Collinwood, Tenn.; parents-in-law, Max and Jackie McWhorter; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sheron and Gordon Ray, Vickie and Mitchell Compton, all of Moulton. Mr. Cartee was preceded in death by his father, Theron Ottis Cartee.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, at Midway Church of Christ with Mr. Mitchell Compton and sons officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the church.
Pallbearers will be McCord Compton, Chad Ray, Mark Rowe, Lamonte Byrd, Harry James and Rayford Morgan.
