OTTAWA — Kathleen "Kate" (Poutre) Melody, 91, of Ottawa, died Sunday, Jan. 8, at Pleasant View.
Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Kate was born on Nov. 21, 1920, in Ottawa, to Arthur and Ann (Patterson) Poutre. She married Matthew C. Melody on April 18, 1950, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. He died on Dec. 1, 1990.
Kate was employed at Borg Warner for 20 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and AARP.
She is survived by five children, Kathy (Gary Neubauer) Jakubek of Ottawa, Karen Melody of St. Joseph, Mich., Thomas M. (Angie) Melody of Chatsworth, Patrick (Ann) Melody of Sugar Grove and Michael (Peggy) Melody of Bristol; eight grandchildren; Kyle, Casey and Katie Jakubek, Kelsey, Brinn, Matt and Dennis Melody and Maggie Patnoudes; two great-grandchildren, Olin and Liam Jakubek; one brother, Bob (Norma) Poutre of Orlando, Fla.; and two sisters, Betty (Cliff) Hess of La Salle and Jean (Robert) Majcina, of Sebring, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four sisters.
