Services for Sidney L. Brock, president of the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce in 1909 and 1910, when the city's packing industry got its start, will be at 11:30 am Saturday at Forest Lawn, Glendale, CA. Brock first came to Oklahoma City in 1905 and opened the Sidney L. Brock Dry Goods Co. on the site of what is now the John A. Brown Co. In 1909 he was elected president of the Chamber of Commerce and immediately began a campaign to develop the packing industry for Oklahoma City. He retired in 1915 and has since lived in Denver, California and Florida, but has always considered Oklahoma City his home. Survivors include his wife of Los Angeles; a son, Sidney Brock Jr of Denver; a daughter, Mrs Elizabeth Frederickson, 1707 Camden Way, Nichols Hills; and five grandchildren.
