At the age of 19 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served diligenty in World War II but while still serving the submarine he was on was bombed and he along with one other officer survived. Their lives were spared because they jumped out of a two story window which caused his ankle to be broken and also he was hit by some scrapnel in his foot that remained there until his death. I miss him dearly and respect him even in his death. A man of honour is who he was. Daddy I love and miss you so much and I thank you for loving us and showing us how important it was to be respectful and to love people unconditionally inspite of the color of their skin. You are our Man of Valor!
