Corning,N.Y., The Evening Leader, Saturday March 22,1952

Mrs.Bertha M.Rhodes
Mrs.Bertha M.Rhodes, 333 West Pulteney Street, died Friday at Corning Hospital. She had been in failing heath for about two years. She was 72.
She was born in Big Flats September 6,1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Pedro Allen. She married Mathew Farrell in 1896 at Wellsboro. Mr. Farrell died in 1933 and Mrs. Rhodes later married Charles Rhodes who died in 1949.
She has lived in Corning since about 1916. She leaves a son James Farrell of Corning; two grandchildren James Farrell Jr. of Penn Yan and Dorthy Hall of Coopers Plains; a brother, Alva Allen of Rush; several nieces and nephews.
Friands may call at the Carpenter Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home with Peul Carpenter officiating. Burial will be made in Big Flats Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Rhodes of 334 West Pulteney Street who died Friday at Corning Hospital were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Carpenter Funeral Home. Paul Carpenter officiated.
Burial was made in Big Flats Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Hall, James Farrell, Jr. James Farrell, Sr. and Willard Lewis.
