Mr. Akers was born March 29, 1927, in Pike County, Kentucky, to Hatler and Hattie Akers.
He lived in the Coldwater area for seven years.
He was employed at the Calhoun Foundry in Homer and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, two daughters,; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four brothers and sisters.
Mr.
Akers was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann LaDuke.
Interment was at Fairview Cemetery in Homer.
