Dorothy Katherine Aspegren was born April 14, 1909, on a
farm near Courtland, Kansas, to Leonard and Ada (Loring)
Aspegren. She attended country grade schools in the Courtland
and Scandia, Kansas, area and graduated from Scandia High
School in 1927. In 1940, she married Eldon Stensaas in Rapid City.
She lived in Rapid City for the next 50 years. In 1990, she moved to
Breckenridge, MN. She is survived by her son, Michael, daughter
Jane and son-in-law, Gary Pick, four grandsons Mike, Darren, Damon and Jim
all students at the University of Minnesota; two sisters, Norma Carlgren,
Scandia, Kansas and Ella Norris, Belleville, Kansas; one sister-in-law,
Florene Billings, Delphos, Kansas; one aunt, Emily Reece,
Scandia, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elden, in 1986; her
daughter-in-law, Lee, in November 1997; three sisters and
an infant brother.
