Virginia Beach - Margaret Edith Davis passed away peacefully after 97 love filled years on November 20, 2011. A native of Appomattox, Virginia she was the 13th child of Cabell and Peggie Carter. She resided in Hampton Roads most of her life and was a long time member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband Russell Davis, two daughters Peggy Stancell and Linda Williams as well as many family members. She is survived to cherish her memory by her daughter Nancy E Turner, 7 grandchildren, 12 great- grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren most of whom will remember her tenacity and good southern cooking. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 -7:30 pm. A funeral will be held Wednesday November 23, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd.- Southside Chapel, Virginia Beach. Burial will conclude in Forest Lawn Cemetery immediately following services. The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Beacon Shores Nursing Facility for their love and attention over the past 4 years and for making Ms. Davis' last days comfortable.
