Erwin J. DePons, aged 27, died at Holy Family hospital last Saturday after an illness of nearly two years. Mr. Depons lived his entire life in Manitowoc. He was educated in the local public schools. For several years prior to his illness he was a salesman at the Seibel clothing store. He was injured there by bumping a table and a personal injury law suit grew out of it that was tried last June in circuit court, the case going against him. He was a very interested member of the local militia company for years. He was very popular among his acquaintances and his close application to business, his capacity and ability to please without effort all pointed to a successful business career.
Besides his widow who was formerly Miss Celestine Oziol, Two Rivers, and two small sons, he is survived by his father, H.J. Depons, three sisters, Mrs. Fred Pierce of Rapids, Mrs. Stanley Pierce, and Mrs. Charles Windus, both of Wilkensburg, Penn., and one brother, Henry Depons of this city.
The funeral was held yesterday morning at 9 o'clock, the remains being taken from Urbanek & Wattawa undertaking parlors to St. Boniface church. Interment was at Evergreen cemetery.
