A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, in Bethel Baptist Church in McMinnville for Rose Marie Dowen, who died Dec. 7 at age 69.
Mrs. Dowen was born Rose Marie Scheel on June 15, 1932, in Pierre, S.D., and moved to Yamhill as a child. She served in the U.S. Army. She lived most of her life in the Portland area and was a contracting clerk for the U.S. Forest Service, retiring in 1986. She moved to Vancouver, Wash., in 1989. In 1956, she married Eugene S. Dowen Sr.
Survivors include her husband; son, Eugene S. Jr.; sister, Shirley Cessna; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her daughter Katherine Dodson died Oct. 28.
