She was the daughter of Hugh Leandas and Maybelle L. Pinkerton Richardson. Her parents are buried in Liberty Cemetery. Tootsie lived in the Bois d'Arc community of Anderson County most of her life. She attended school at Montalba before graduating from Palestine High School in 1958. She received her Associate degree from Henderson County Jr. College, and her Master's degree from Stephen F. Austin University. She was a school teacher for 32 years before retiring. She was a member of Bois D'Arc Baptist where she was a Sunday school teacher and a worker in the church nursery. She never married. She was residing in Bois d'Arc at the time of her death in Palestine. She was survived by her sister, Dolores Laverne Richardson Lambright of Palestine; one brother, Harold Dwane Richardson of Palestine; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Thursday, 5 January 2012.
