Maggie Louise “Big Mama” Flanagan 82,of New Boston, Texas died Thursday December 11,2003 in a local hospital. Mrs. Flanagan was born January 14,1921 in Artex, Ark. She was a homemaker, retired health care provider, and a member of Faith Assembly of God Church, New Boston. She was preceaded in death by her husband, Harold E. Flanagan, in 1991. Survivors include her sister, Juanita Hardy of New Boston; two nieces, Della Brown and Ruby Lester of New Boston; one cousin, L.J. Beal Sr., of Torrance, Calif; three special friends, Alice McLaughlin and Doris Shedrick of Texarkana; and Nelda Rose of Eureka, Calif; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in East Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Benny Womble officiating, under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Della Brown, 5264 Daniels Chapel Road, New Boston. 12-12-2003.
