From the LaFollette Press, Thursday, April 19,1984:

Mrs. Ida Bartley Claiborne, 95, of LaFollette, died April 11 at LaFollette Medical Center. The wife of the late Hodge Claiborne, she was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Her funeral was Friday afternoon at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Revs. Paul Heatherly and William Millsaps officiating. Burial was in Jacksboro Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home of LaFollette was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include four sons, Ed Claiborne of Caryville, and Albert Claiborne, Escle Claiborne and Billie Bartley, all of LaFollette; three daughters, Gertie Goins of Clinton, Alta Schultz of LaFollette and Ruth Weaver of California; a brother, Hobart Bartley of Jacksboro; two sisters, Ola Woods and Dola Queener, both of Jacksboro; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
