Mildred Christina "Millie" Volk, 89, of Olney, died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Mrs. Volk was born July 31, 1922, in Richland County, the daughter of Martin and Helena (Zuber) Hahn.
She married Cornelius Volk on November 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2007.
Millie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney. She was active in St. Joseph Ladies Guild and enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing card games and bingo with family and friends.
Millie is survived by her son, Michael Volk and his wife, Jody Lerner, of Oakland, Calif.; son, Stephen Volk, of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; daughter, Barbara Potter and her husband, Horace, of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; daughter, Sharron Corbin and her husband, Richard, of Sherman; brothers, James and Carl Hahn, both of Decatur; grandchildren, Brian and Eric Potter, Todd and Chad Corbin, Melissa Miller, and Monica and Sarah Volk; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Sidney, Ethan and Savannah Corbin, Luke Potter, and Gavin and Hannah Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Volk; parents, Martin and Helena Hahn; great-grandson, Jack Potter; five brothers and three sisters.
