When he returned from the war, he lived with his parents. After his father's death in 1939 and with his mother getting older and moving in with his eldest sister, Caroline, Art entered the Veterans Home at King.
He passed away 30 Jan 1978 and was laid to rest in the cemetery at King Veterans Home.
