Rising Star - Darrell R. Alexander, age 78, of Rising Star, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Brownwood at Oak Ridge Manor.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 at Higginbotham Chapel in Rising Star with Terry Simmons officiating; burial will follow in the Rising Star Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, January 1st at the chapel 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
He was born on February 21, 1933 in Brownwood to Richard Coke and Eva Jewell (Pallett) Alexander. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army in 1953. He married Barbara Jean Eason on November 19, 1955 in Old Mexico, she preceded him in death on May 11, 2007.
He is survived by his daughter; son; brother; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, and one sister.
