He was born on June 24, 1930, in Throop, Pa., the son of Ernest and Elizabeth Malhenzie. Herb was a Navy veteran having served from 1947 to 1950. He married the former Shirley Mininger in 1953. Shirley passed away in 1982. Herb made his career at Eastern Rock as paving foreman retiring in 1986 with 35 years of service. In retirement, he spent his days hunting, fishing, and cutting wood.
He leaves behind a daughter, Cathy, and her husband, Craig; a son Mike, and his wife, Esther; a son, Pi, and his wife, Jean; his sisters, Grace, Eleanor, Josephine, and Betty; his brother, Bernie, and his wife, Toni; his beloved grandchildren, John and his wife, Laura, Jason, Josh, and Justin and his wife, Kate; great-grandchildren, Tairyn and Johnny III; his best friend, Rebecca; and several nieces and nephews.
Herb was predeceased by his three brothers, Charles, Ernest Jr., and Ed.
Services were held on Friday, March 23, 2012, with interment in Madison Village Cemetery.
