Son of Adam Liddick and Betsy Dorman.

Daniel 1st married Hannah Silks, daughter of Abraham and Mary Silks, about 1836-1837 (based on birth of first born). 5 kids were born to this marriage; William Henry, Mary Jane, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Elizabeth Liddick. Hannah died. Some say her date of death was 5 Feb 1858 but offer no records to back it up and I have yet to find one.

In 1860, he was a blacksmith living with his family in Buffalo Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania, and stood 5' 10" tall with brown hair and blue eyes.

Daniel married 2nd Catherine Silks, daughter of John and Catherine Silks, abt 1860-1861 (based on birth of first born). 6 kids were born to this marriage; Hannah Permelia, Catherine Louisa, Margaret Jane, Philip S, Jacob L. and Jeremiah H.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Newport, Perry County, August 6, 1862, correctly claiming to be forty-four years of age, and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 13 as a private with Co. I, 133rd Pennsylvania Infantry. He suffered a sprained back during the battle of Fredericksburg and was hospitalized for it. The injury was severe enough that he apparently never returned to the company, although he honorably discharged May 21, 1863, the same date as the rest of his company. He also enlisted and mustered into federal service at Carlisle February 28, 1865, still claiming to be forty-four years old, as a private with Co. C, 77th Pennsylvania Infantry, joining sons Abraham and George already serving, and honorably discharged with his company December 6, 1865 in Victoria, Texas.
