Mabel Amanda Riethmeyer Rummel, 95 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Dumas. Rev. Don Poole, pastor of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 30, 2011 at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mabel was born on July 23, 1916 to David Gottlob Riethmeyer and Ida Amelia Buenger Riethmeyer in Thrall, Texas. She was united in marriage to Martin Luther Rummel on October 31, 1938 in Thrall, Texas. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1968. Mrs. Rummel was a resident of Dumas for more than sixty years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters.
Mabel is survived by three sons, Gene Rummel and wife Carolyn of Dumas, Dean Rummel and wife Gloria of Fritch, and S. D. Rummel and wife Glenna of Fritch; six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Dumas Nursing Center and Moore County Memorial Hospital and Hospice.
